Suunto Vyper timing out - it's NOT downloading

I've been trying to download dives from my Suunto Vyper using Macdive, and so far, it's been readable for my buddy's Windows computer, but apparently NOT readable to Macdive. Why is Macdive having so much trouble reading the dive computer? It keeps reporting that the dive computer's timed out...
