Re: Lost photos
The other reason for always storing them internally, not just syncing, was to make it easier to migrate MacDive to a new computer. It was a long standing issue that photos would not copy over properly. In order for that to work you had to have the exact same username, the same exact iPhoto setup, etc. It caused a lot of issues, so this was a significantly more robust way to manage it. In fact that was the main reason, as opposed to syncing - it just made sense for that also.

Re: Lost photos
Your scenario seems to ring a bell. I think I did in fact reference them instead of copying them to save space as I had a small drive back then. They are all my own photos. I have 198 referenced to the logs :O(

Re: Lost photos
Ok. I think probably the least frustrating way to fix this, is to see if we can match up the filenames from within Photos. Then I can spend some time writing a tool to copy them over to the correct location for you, and it shouldn't really require any other effort on your part.
Unfortunately I'm at work right now (no Mac) so I can't start investigating this. Could you drop me an email to support@mac-dive.com?
Once I'm home, I'll poke around with Photos and come up with something for you.
