Dive Computer: oceanic pro plus 2.1

Oceanic serial Port Problem

Any help appreciated.
Have Oceanic pro plus 2.1 with factory cable.
downloaded driver OK.
When I go to transfer I get the following message: Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port-?dev/tty.usbserial 20030001 (error code 7 ).
Have read most of the troubleshooting help but no success.
Am I missing something simple?
In addition, I'm no computer expert so any advice would have to take this into account.

Provided you have installed the USB driver, which it looks like you have, the most common reason for this with a Pro Plus 2.1 is that you have the cable plugged in upside down. It is very easy to do (I do it all the time on my VT4).

Make sure you try it both ways.

I have a Oceanic Pro Plus 2 as well and drivers are not working. I'm very familiar with the USB cable and it's ability to be inserted upside down/reversed as I have used the computer for months with a PC and Oceanic's own (poor) software. With Mac-Dive and drivers successfully installed and with following instructions...still not working and get error "Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port '/dev/tty.usbserial-20030001' (Error Code: -7)"

Glad I tried all this with trial version before purchasing software...but would like to get this resolved so I can purchase software as soon as possible and let all the others from dive club with this dive computer to covert over to Mac-Dive!

Look forward to hearing form someone who can help!

Have you read the help, specifically Troubleshooting Downloads?

Do you have low battery? Are you positive it is plugged in the right way? This is by far and away the most common problem with the Pro Plus 2.1. Another common problem is that you have the wrong cable, as the 2.0 cable is not compatible. If you've had it working in Oceanlog then this is probably not the case.

The Pro Plus 2.1 works fairly reliably, provided the cable is indeed plugged in correctly. Failing that, please refer to the stickied post on reporting download problems and follow the instructions using the "atom2" test:
