Suunto will not download to MacBook running Mavericks

I am using MacBook Air running Mavericks 10.9.2 and am no longer able to download dives from my Suunto Vyper using the Suunto interface cable. The downloads work fine using the Suunto DM4 software with the same hardware. I had been downloading dives using MacDive up until Sept. 2013 but when I went to upload a recent dive it would not work and I got the error "could not detect a valid serial port". MacDive was updated as new releases cam out over the winter. I deleted the existing MacDive application and installed a new one with no luck. Any thoughts?

This message means you have not installed the appropriate USB driver, as linked here:

http://www.mac-dive.com/devices.php

If you have the official suunto cable, you want the FTDI driver, direct link is:

http://www.ftdichip.com/drivers/VCP/Mac ... 2_2_18.dmg

When this opens, right click on the 10_4_5_6_7 option and choose "Open", then follow the on-screen instructions. After that, you should be good to go. Usually this happens if you've moved computers and not reinstalled the driver.

Thanks

That did the trick. Not sure what happened to the original driver but all is well. Many thanks. Barry
