A whole week of dives and photos that I was working on before the update have disappeared.
Where did they go?
How do I get them back?

They didn't go anywhere. Make sure you aren't sorting or filtering in some way you don't expect (eg by date, dive number, etc).
You can email me your data (everything in your MacDive folder) so that I can investigate, but it's very unlikely data is missing after the update. Whatever was there previously will still be there, otherwise the update would have failed completely. It's a bit of an all or nothing process.
