Reading dives from a Cobalt2. This worked fine day before yesterday. Today, I show CONNECTED! on the Cobalt 2 and it MacDive refuses to download, giving the error code Bulk Read Error (e0004051).
Any suggestions?

What firmware version are you running?
Can you please drop an email to support. I think you're hitting a known issue, which is being addressed in a firmware update - just checking up on the status of when that will be released.

MacDive Version 2.3.5
Cobalt 2 Version 2.25
But, again...it worked fine on MONDAY of this week and not today. Nothing has changed.

Re: Bulk Read Error (e0004051)
Heard back. The new firmware hasn't been released yet. I have a beta version you can try which will fix the issue, but this is at your own risk - it's not recommended you dive with it, as it is still being tested. Alternatively you can use it to download, and then revert to a previous firmware to dive, if you are comfortable doing that. Some others have been using it with no problem, but you never know.
Otherwise the official firmware should be out in the near future. Apologies for the inconvenience, it's unfortunately nothing that I can resolve on my end.

Can you explain what the issue with Atomic's SW is? Again..how can it work one day and not the next with the same Cobalt 2 firmware and the same MacDive version SW? What is the failure mode in the Cobalt?
Re: Bulk Read Error (e0004051)
Never mind. I found a discussion by Ron as to the issue with bytes vs. dive numbers making a dive invisible to MacDive. The PC sees it...MacDIve does not.diver2 wrote:nick wrote:Heard back. It's not specifically macdive. It's the Mac itself. Either way, the firmware update is on the way.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: Bulk Read Error (e0004051)
I was wondering if you could point me to the Cobalt 2 Beta SW. I have been waiting for them to formally post it, but would like to be able to download dives from this beast. Getting a lot of dives stacked up.

Re: Bulk Read Error (e0004051)
Running into the same issue with Mac Dive (2.37) and my Cobalt 2 (running 2.26 firmware).
I remember speaking with Ron (@ Atomic) a while back (Sept 2014) that there was an abnormality with downloading dives on Mac: "There is another odd Mac quirk that can cause problems with some dive log downloads. If anyone has particular dives that won't download on the Mac, we have a fix which will be in the next firmware update. It turns out that if the number of bytes in the dive happens to be an even multiple of the buffer size (which will happen about one dive out of 64), the Mac won't see the file as having been completed, and won't finish the download. So we need to add a few empty bytes to get the dive to be seen as finished. This is only on the Mac, not Windows or Linux."
Is this related to issue we're hitting here? If so, I can always follow-up with Ron. Thanks.
