Help with USB driver

Post by bvanant »

Running Macdive 2.3.6 on an iMac. Recently upgraded to Yosemite, no downloads possible the system says could not detect a valid serial port. Have just installed the FTB driver 2.2.18. Even though Apple is supposed to have its own FTDI driver.
The system sees
Suunto Sports Instrument:

Product ID: 0xf680
Vendor ID: 0x0403 (Future Technology Devices International Limited)
Version: 6.00
Serial Number: STVCFWEE
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Suunto
Location ID: 0xfd130000 / 15
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 300

/dev/cu* sees nothing.

It will not be /dev/cu.

Try reinstalling the driver, or at least rebooting. Sometimes it fails to start correctly.

The default FTDI driver that ships with Apple does not support Suunto. It is a lot easier to install the official one than for you to modify system files in an appropriate way.

Thanks
