OSTC download

Post by JerryA »

Hi,

I have recently purchased Mac Dive and first impressions are good. I am however having a bit of a problem when importing dives from my OSTC 2N. I had been using diving log 5.0 until I changed to a Mac. Therefore I had all of my dives already saved to dive log on my iPad (that talks to diving log 5.0 quite nicely). Once I downloaded Mac Dive I transferred all of my dives from dive log onto Mac Dive. No problems so far, all running smoothly. Just to test the download capability of Mac Dive with my OSTC, I plugged it in and downloaded 'all new dives'. Bearing in mind these have already been downloaded using diving log 5.0 and are on my iPad on dive log. Mac Dive down loaded the dives again. I thought I might have to join the dives but that didn't work. Whilst it was quite easy to delete the dives, I am concerned that every time I download from the OSTC, it will download the dives I already have. Is there anyway to get around this, other than re-inputting the dive details into the freshly downloaded dives and deleting the old original dives off the system.

Regards

Jerry

Once you've done a new dive, make sure you have "Only import new dives" selected as you method.

Subsequent downloads will stop once they find that dive, and no longer import the older ones.

Thanks

That makes perfect sense. I'm guessing that first download will import all of the dives, including the ones I have already downloaded and the new dive. I would then have to delete all of the dives I don't want and leave the new dive. Any subsequent download will stop at that new dive. Is that about right?

Thanks for the lightning response.

Pretty much, yep. Once you're set up it is (hopefully) convenient to just download the new dives - no mucking around with dialogs etc.
