I just returned from a dive trip and suddenly I can no longer download my dives from the Mares Icon HD Net Ready. I get the error message:
Import Error:
Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port '/dev/tty.usbserial-ST000001' (Error Code: -8)
Interestingly, I tested DiveLogDT and DiversDiary and both have no problems downloading the information. How come Mac-Dive suddenly has this error? Does it have anything to do with having updated my Mares to firmware version 4.1?

Re: Mares Icon HD Import Error
The error there is because it's trying to access a Suunto cable - do you have a Suunto cable plugged in at the same time? If so, unplug it.
If not, you may have this specified in Preferences -> Advanced, and it's overriding it rather than figuring it out correctly. If that's the case go there and clear out what's in the serial port box.
Cheers

Re: Mares Icon HD Import Error
You are so right. I did have a Suunto cable plugged in a different USB port (for my other dive computer), but no dive computer attached to it. I had no idea an "empty" cable could throw a wrench into the sync with the Mares Icon HD.
The sync works now
Thank you!

It seems a little strange, but when you are talking to your Suunto you're actually talking to the cable, which in turn talks to the computer. So yes, it's a bit odd.
MacDive should be ignoring the Suunto one in that case, however, so I'll make an update to stop that in the future.
