Hi all,
I've attempted to mass update tanks and gasses for some of my imported dives, and MacDive will only change one at a time. Is this a known bug, or is there some reason that it won't allow mass updates of these items?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Mass update tanks and gasses
You should be able to select all the dives and see all of their tanks etc in the table. Select those and you can mass update them.
Maybe you only have one dive selected?

I've repeated the process again just to make sure. From the main table I selected several dives by holding down the shift key, then clicked the Info button. Then I went to the gasses tab and changed the tank. Then clicked the close window button. But only the first dive was changed.

Re: Mass update tanks and gasses
Did you select all of the tanks?
You said you went to the gases tab and changed "the" tank. If multiple dives are selected, you should see each tank/gas in the table on the left. So you'd select all of the tanks you want to change, and then change the actual tank in the dropdown on the right.
I'm at work right now (day job) so I'll look in to this when I get home - I don't have access to my mac.

Ok, I see now. I have to say, that is VERY unintuitive, especially for a recreational diver. If all the dives have the same tank, why is it necessary to select them all individually in the gasses tab? That doesn't seem to make sense to me since each individual dive already has a tank assigned, and it's the same tank across all the dives.nick wrote:Did you select all of the tanks?

Re: Mass update tanks and gasses
Yes, it's unintuitive. It's a complex setup, and generally speaking most of the information is automated from a download. Particularly if you have a default tank set, I wouldn't expect you would need to change things very often.
Making it easier to use and more intuitive is unfortunately not particularly high on the priority list right now - sorry. We have a massive update coming shortly that has not left much time to concentrate on lower priority tasks.
We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to address this for you in the future.
Sincerely,
MacDive Support

I do have a default tank set up, but I've just migrated to MacDive so I'm going back fixing and updating a lot of things with my past imported dives.
Looking forward to the update!
Cheers,
Eric
