Hi,

Would appreciate greatly if you can give me some advise. This is the error we get when trying to download from Sensus Ultra.

Failed to read dive computer memory (Error Code: -8)

Specs:
Mac IOS 10.11.2 El Capitan
USB serial adapter: PL2303_MacOSX_1_6_0_20151022

It is able to "see" the USB serial adapter port, but just unable to download any dives. Any advise? suggestion appreciated. Thank you.

I'm actually looking in to this at the moment. The newer El Capitan USB driver is not playing nice with the Sensus Ultra. The problem is the older third party one is better, but El Capitan won't use it correctly.

I have a few other urgent things to take care of, but it's on my radar. Ultimately it's a driver issue, unfortunately.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will sit tight and wait for the good news.

See if you can get it to work with any other software, including the actual downloader that reefnet makes. As nick says, it's probably a driver issue and you probably won't have any luck, but you never know. Better to get the data on your laptop in the reefnet app, it's better than nothing.

Hi Roger,

I tried it with the Sensus manager as well, and it gave me the same kind of error "handshake failure"... :( I downloaded the dives onto a old laptop which still runs on Windows XP, but I hate having dives logs on all over different computers. And there is no way I can export those dives from the laptop and then import into MacDive... seems I am in a fix until there is a solution to the driver :(

Email me an example file from the windows machine. Maybe we can import that in the interim, which is better than nothing.

Hi Nick, thank you for your offer. I can only output CSV files, and cannot find the anywhere in the PC laptop the .dat files (which were easily available in my Mac laptop!). I read somewhere on the MacDive forum that there is no way to import the CSV files into the MacDive program at the moment. I have emailed Kris (from Sensus) for suggestions but yet to hear back from him. It is probably due to holiday season at the moment.

Right.. there's not. Which is why I suggested you send me a file, so I can look at adding something for you, if that would help.

Hi Nick, I send you an example of the csv file to support@mac-dive.com. Again, thank you for your help. Really appreciate it.
