Dive downloads to OS ≥ 12 with custom idea suunto cable

Several years ago I had issues downloading dives from my gecko to a new MacBook Pro (-7 error code) with custom idea cable but after emails with Nick decided it was probably a USBC issue. I was still able to download to my old USBB MacBook and just did that with cloud transfers. However, I recently upgraded that computer from OS10 to 12 and now Macdive cannot connect to the gecko on that computer. I suspect there may be a custom idea driver issue with the new OS's but Custom idea is not responsive to eamail and their driver download is no longer available. Anyone else having this issue and come up with a solution? With new OS I can't even figure out where to find the driver.

I installed a new driver and now get:

Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port '/dev/tty.BLTH' (Error Code: -5)
Before I was getting error code: -7

That serial port does not look right, I think that is bluetooth. Mine is as follows for my Suunto Vyper Air. Go to Setting -> Advanced to select the serial port.

Thanks for the info - I think for Gecko should be /dev/tty.usbserial-1420 When I use that I get the -7 error. Now on both MacBooks. looks like the driver should be Silicon labs. Again, if anyone has a gecko with custom Idea on Mac OS14 or above still working please let me know.

I finally figured it out. The original Custom Idea driver is not compatible with more recent Mac OS's. It was a Silicon Labs CP210X usb-to-uart bridge. The correct replacement is at: https://www.silabs.com/software-and-too ... =downloads

Download, install and if need be change the Serial Port Override and you should be good to go. Saves me for a while. Probably time to look for a new computer and software package but for now the Gekko lives on.
