Can't download dives on my Aeris Atmos Ai dive computer

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.7 on a Mac Book Pro and a registered version of MacDive 2.0.5

I had a Suunto Zoop which worked fine with my Mac and MacDive. I recently purchased an Aeris Atmos Ai and completed 5 dives with it. When I connect my Ai with a USB cable and try to download the data into MacDive, I keep getting the following error:

Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port '/dev/tty.usbserial-20030001' (Error Code: -5)

I have downloaded the the latest FTDI drivers 2.2.16.

I connect the usb cable and the Ai goes into the PC mode but it will not connect. Anybody have any suggestions????

Is the cable plugged in the right way? (This may sound silly but is easy to do on some devices).

Are you using a USB hub? Does the device have low battery?

The battery on the DC shows it is at full strength.

I am able to plug the cable into the DC two different ways. Both ways put the DC into PC mode but neither way works.

I am also plugged directly into the Mac. I have tried both ports with the same results.

Can you try and follow the instructions here:

Using the "vtpro" test.

I have a Aeris AI, and had issues the first time I synced.

I had to clean the contacts with a q-tip and alcohol. If the cable was not in at just the right angle I would get errors. I had to fiddle with the cable till I could get to sync. I was also using a 3rd party cable.

My 2 cents.

BTW .... the cable that came with my new VT3 also works way better then the old one did with my Aeris AI.
