Hello nick and all others,

I'm a new user of 2.0.5 mac-dive version (I used 1.5 version up to now).
I and my wife also have Ipad and iphone, so we also use divelog ios app. It's really great to have divelog with us !

However, we're facing issue when we try to sync / merge all our data, here is an example of what we'd like to do :

- We'd like to create a new dive on iphone or ipad in order to fill some data just after we dive (information about air, or notes)
- when back at home, we'd like to sync and merge the information from iphone and suunto computer on the mac

It seems not to work properly when we tested.

I finally get 2 dives, the first one coming from suunto diver with raw data and the second one coming from iphone or ipad without raw data.
I tried to Merge them but it doesn't work. It seems that it's not possible to merge dive that don't have raw data.

Anyone could help us to merge those 2 kinds of dives. Nick, is it an expected behavior, do you plan to improve this in the following version ?

The sync is supposed to merge these. The merge option in the file menu is for something else entirely - joining two profiles together.

The way it works is that if you create a dive on the phone, and the *DIVE TIME* is within a minute or two of the time recorded on your suunto, then it should find a match and "merge" the data together as you are expecting.

If that's not happening, and you think it should be, follow the instructions in help about how to report syncing issues.

Thanks for your quick answer. I've done additional tests by copy-pasting divetime to have exactly the same divetime.
In that case, dives are merged, but only data coming from suunto dive are used (other data are lost, in my case coming from ipad).

I will send you a mail with a sample file and my test case to explain you what I've tried and what result I get.

Last point, if I mege two dives and then undo it, I keep my two dives available : great ! but It seems that I can't merge them anymore. I will also explain this in my test case.

Certain information will always be trusted from MacDive, like max depth etc, as it's assumed your dive computer is more correct than what you hand entered on the phone.

I sent you an email with data sample. I agree with you : data coming from suunto computer are more relevant than data coming from ipad.

But in my case, some datas are "lost" (country, site, location, notes, ...) and some other are false : merged average rate is divided by 2

I let you check my sample database sent.

I hope this will be fixed in your next version. Let me know if you need some help or tests
