Smart Divelogs

MacDive 2 allows you to create "Smart Divelogs". These are like iTunes playlists, and provide you a way to create your own custom logs.

The Basics

To create a smart divelog, choose New Smart Divelog from the action menu -

If you've created a smart playlist in other applications before, you'll be familiar with the next window. Choose a field, a condition, and type in your criteria. If you'd like to add more, click the plus. If you'd like to remove one, click the minus!

Once you're done, click Save and you'll see a new "untitled playlist" pop up under Dive Logs in the side bar. Give it a name and it will now be automatically updated whenever a new dive matches the criteria it is looking for.

Advanced Usage

You can also create more complex compound criteria by holding down the alt/option button, and then clicking a plus button to add a row.
