Dive Numbering

And now, by popular demand (yes, I finally gave in..) you can have your dives numbered. So, how does this work ?

Setting up for automatic dive numbering

MacDive will automatically number dives based on dive computer. So if you have two or more dive computers, they will be numbered individually. By default, each computer will start numbering from 1. If you want to change this, you can visit the gear screen and modify the starting number, then choose "Renumber", as illustrated below:

Your dives will be renumbered, and future imports will continue numbering from the highest number for this particular computer. This is a great option if you use multiple computers in MacDive and would like them to use the same dive numbers.

Manual Renumbering

You can also manually renumber dives. To do this, select the dives you would like to renumber, and then right click. Choose "Renumber dives" from the context menu, and you will be presented with a panel. It will default to the first dive number of the selected dives, and you have the option to renumber and/or recalculate repetitive dive numbers and surface intervals.

This can be useful to just number every single dive sequentially, or to fix gaps from deleted/merged dives.
